Drilled Amalfi Sea Glass.. preparing the base for new creations

Last week the drillingi madness caught me, and I spent the week-end drilling holes in my beloved Amalfi Sea Glass and all those beauties will be the base for some of my jewels, and soon will be featured and sold in my  shop.
And so I drilled green, milky white  and amber brown sea glass. It is so nice to see all of them all together, I can feel the power of the sea tides.
And by the way drilling was like a stress teraphy :-)  !!!

Rugby 6 Nations: Italy 13 vs Scotland 6... a new passion in Italy!

Rugby is not the most popular sport in italy. But considering that yesterday thre were over 73.000 person at the Olimpic Stadio in Rome than iits popularity is definetively increasing!
I spent a year in Edinburgh Scotland as a young studend and I definetively left my heart there! So for me I was of couse hoping that Italy would win, but if Scotland had won I would have been happy too!
I must say that hearign the Royal  Scottish Bagpipes playing brought me back to those years and the familiar sound I used to hear by the Castle, or sometimes coming from the places were they practices!

The Olimic Stadio in Rome

To me it means a lot good memories of my time in Edinburgh!

The first rays of sun in Rome

Fontana di trevi
This pircure were taken last sunday in Rome. This was the first sunny and mild sunday after a long and cold winter, where we could admire the snow over the collosseum.
Mortadella at "Il Fornaio" bakery near Campo dei Fiori. A MUST when in Rome!

Piazza Navona
The Pantheon

Pizza Bianca con la Mortazza: so YUMMY!! warm pizza bread sprinkled with olive oil and salt with freshly cut mortadella!!

In my opinion the best coffe in town is at La Tazza D'oro
The tumb of Raffaello in the Phanteon.
Creative crochet embellishment!
shopping in Campo dei Fiori !
Carciofi alla Romana: a typical spring specialty coming from the jewish tradition.
This dress belonged to Regina Margherita
La REgina Margherita: did you know that the pizza margherita was "invented" in her honour. The red of the tomato sauce, the white of the mozzarella cheese and the green of teh basil leaves are the colour of the italian flag. A perfect tribute for an Italian Queen.

Voting for March Challenge "Destinations"

This is my entry for the ETSY Beadweavers team March Challenge
The theme was to create an object inspired by your favorite destination in the world.
 My entry is nr. #35
"SUNSET SPARKLES ON THE AMALFI COAST"
This pendant reminds me of my favourite rock when on hot sunset summer evenings I enjoy the sea getting darker and the sparkles on the surface. So that my entry do not only have a specific destination, but actually IT IS a little piece of my favourite destination.
Take a look at all gorgeous beaweaved items and vote your favorite one.

Mermaid Cufflink for him or her

For a long time that I wanted to use my sea glass in a purist way: With spring approaching I will soon start wearing simple white shirts that I want to embellish with some cufflink.
Spo I started to prepare some for me, and of course I left some for my shop.
I love sea glass, I love to emballish them with all kind of beads, but I also love them in all their simple beauty... I love their little scratches from years and year of rolling into the mediterranean sea.
This sea glasses have been collected by myself by the Amalfi Coast, so that wearign them is kind of wearing a little piece of my country.
